Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for reading about what i'm going to be doing and why.

On Saturday 28th March 2026, after completing 8 weeks of training, I am going to be taking part in the Strictly Experience 2026 dance competition on stage at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, all in aid of raising funds for a fantastic cause; Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind.

As a busy, working mum, my current dance abilities are limited to a two step side to side swaying movement, hands in the air, and maybe the occasional kids party dance learnt on holiday. So to be performing 2 ballroom dances, with a semi-professional dance partner, on stage in front of a panel of judges in true Strictly Come Dancing style is seriously out of my comfort zone! However, the knowledge that by doing this I will help to raise so much money and awareness for such an amazing cause completely outweighs the anxiety, nerves and doubts I have about my dance abilities.

Mind want to make sure that everyone with poor mental health gets the support they need and the respect they deserve. This could mean having access to information, a listening ear, or more specialist support and services to help someone to live and recover from their mental health issue.

Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind provide services to all ages, including children, young people and adults, supporting in excess of 40,000 people each year.

Some of these services include drop in centres open 7 days per week, a 24 hr support phone line, crisis support, digital counselling, and workshops and courses. Mind also support the Community Autism Support Service (CASS) which offers support for children, young people and adults who have neuro-diverse needs, as well as families and professionals.

All donations received will go towards ensuring that all of these vital services and support networks can keep going, and we can continue to support those suffering with their mental health.
