Yorkshire Marathon 2024 · 20 October 2024 ·

We want to ensure that every patient at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals experiences the highest quality of care available. We raise funds for cutting edge technology, additional specialist staff and extra comforts for patients, over and above what is possible with NHS funding alone.

Story

Earlier this year, Jonathan and I benefitted enormously from the incredible facilities, kindness and compassion provided by the Rosie Bereavement Services. I'm running the Yorkshire Marathon to give back to those who helped us.

Rosie Bereavement Services allow the Rosie Hospital to provide support to parents who experience pregnancy loss after 13 weeks. Although it's rarely talked about, this happens in around 2% of pregnancies.

The service offers a range of support, from dedicated delivery rooms to allow bereaved parents privacy, safety and comfort, to training for specialised bereavement midwives.

It also ensures parents are supported through incredibly challenging decisions around funerals and burial/ cremation, and offers the chance to make memories that will help with the grieving process later.

Many aspects of the service are funded through donations. Please give anything you're able to, to make sure that the support we received is available to everyone who needs it.
