Story
Early in 2023 my Dad got diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. Despite being told it was an isolated cancer and undergoing surgery for a stoma, unfortunately the cancer spread and he died in the August with a diagnosis of Leptomeningeal Cancer effectively Brain and Spine Cancer.
Even as a clinician myself, I was not prepared for the devastating effects that Cancer caused and how it completely stole my dad away from us.
Last year was a half marathon but this year it needed to be a marathon but not running just walking!
I grew up with holidays to Norfolk and so when I saw MacMillan were doing a mighty hike there it seemed a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for a charity close to my heart.
So In May 2024, I am taking on a Mighty Hike along the picturesque Norfolk coastline to raise money for people living with cancer.
We are walking as part of a team and have pledged to raise £250 each and would appreciate any support in reaching this. By fundraising my pledge, I could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
