Story
Hi, I'm Becca, and I’m running to support Sense - a charity whose mission really resonates with me.
I was diagnosed with dyslexia at 11 and autism at 18. Growing up, I often felt like I experienced the world differently. Things like reading, communicating, or understanding social situations could be confusing and exhausting. What helped me most wasn’t just support, it was acceptance and people who were willing to adapt so I could succeed in my own way.
That’s why I’m so proud to run for Sense. They support people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities, including autism and learning difficulties, helping them connect with others, express themselves, and live full, meaningful lives. Sense believes in giving everyone the best chance by meeting people where they are, listening, adapting, and truly seeing the person behind the challenges.
For me, this run is more than just a physical goal, it’s a way of saying that everyone deserves to be understood, included, and given the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for reading and any support you can give
