Story
Jenny passed away August 2024 having suffered from vascular dementia.
Jenny was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a sensitive, creative and a gifted artist, who with her paintings became one of Cheshire’s most accomplished artists.
Jenny was diagnosed with vascular dementia in January 2022 which transformed her life completely, leading eventually to her requiring 24 hour care.
Chris, Jenny’s husband, Rebecca her daughter and Robert her son are walking the West Highland Way from Milngavie, Glasgow to Fort William a distance of 96 miles in Jenny’s memory and in aid of a charity “ Race Against Dementia”.
Jackie Stewart, former Formula One driver whose wife has also been diagnosed with dementia, established the charity “Race Against Dementia” to raise money to fund breakthrough and innovative dementia research into developing a test to detect the condition at a very early stage and also a cure.
There is currently no cure for dementia and 1 in 3 people born today will die of the condition.
The charity walk will commence from Milngavie on what would have been Jenny’s birthday in September 2025.
