This November, I will be taking on the Sahara Desert in a five-day trek, covering 100km to raise money for Mental Health Resource (MHR) in West Kent. 💪

With the desert sun on my back, I will be pushed to my limits taking on daily half marathons through rolling sand dunes, rocky gorges and climbing peaks. 🏜

💙 Tailored Support: MHR provide free and non-judgemental person-centred care across various settings and the opportunity for 1-2-1 support with trained professionals. Where possible, we work closely with clients to develop a personal progress plan based on their goals.

🎨 Wellbeing activities: MHR's community projects, including the Hub, Reachout and Reachout Youth, provide a number of wellbeing activities to suit all interests including needlecraft, creative writing, art groups and more.

👉 Signposting to other services: As a local charity, MHR form established links with other service providers in West Kent, helping us to share information and work closely to tackle the issue of mental health, to better support our clients.

🫂 Peer connections: Community projects that help facilitate engagement with the community and help to foster supportive friendships within the groups.

📢 Advocacy: A specialist service for those who have been detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.
