Story
Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Kenya with Rams in Kenya and spend eight days at West End Destiny Kids Academy in Nakuru.
From the moment I walked through the school gates, I was overwhelmed by the warmth, happiness and love from the children and teachers. I taught maths, supported the teachers and, most importantly, spent time playing and building relationships with the children.
Alongside teaching, our team worked on improving the school. We moved around 35 tonnes of quarry dust, sieved sand, laid paving, mixed cement, dug channels for future projects, painted classrooms and play equipment, improved drainage, and provided fruit, maize, equipment, clothes and toys for the children.
The trip taught me a huge amount about resilience, teamwork and gratitude. I came home with greater confidence, a new appreciation for what I have, and friendships and memories that I will never forget.
Saying goodbye to the children was incredibly difficult. In just eight days, they had made a huge impact on my life, and I knew I wanted to return.
So, in 2027, I’m going back — and this time Jacob is coming with me!
We want to raise as much as possible to support the incredible work being done in Kenya. We’ll be running raffles, a quiz night and other fundraising activities along the way, but if you’d like to support us with a donation, every penny is hugely appreciated.
Thank you for helping us return to Kenya and make a difference together. ❤️
