In August 2023, we lost our amazing grandfather to Vascular Dementia. After six and a half years of care and support from friends, family and healthcare professionals, his battle with this disease came to an end. Our granda lived a full and extraordinary life, and we will always remember him the way he was before this disease - making us laugh, holding our hands, and keeping us safe.

The Alzheimer's Society holds a special place in our family's heart for their support of those with this disease, their families, and their vital ongoing research & policy work.

In September 2024, we will be running the Belfast half-marathon, running 13.1 miles in memory of our Granda and for all those living with or affected by dementia.
