Peak District Ultra Challenge 2025 · 28 June 2025 ·

PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. We run HOPELINE247 0800 068 4141 a freephone confidential helpline staffed by trained professionals who give advice, support & information to anyone who is feeling suicidal, or concerned that a young person they know may be at risk

Story

Todd, Becca and Tom will be taking on the challenge of running 100 kilometres non-stop through the stunning Peak District to raise funds and awareness for PAPYRUS UK, a charity dedicated to preventing youth suicide. This charity has been chosen collectively as with Becca working in young people’s mental health, the struggles and challenges are acknowledged daily. There appears to be little fundraising for such a wonderful selfless charity that deserves to be recognised. The charity PAPYRUS is now in need of donations and support now more than ever.

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people take their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247. As we are aware, young people’s mental health is currently at its highest, increasing concern for young people and their loved ones. PAPYRUS also aims to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health and equipping young people and their network and communities with the skills to respond to emotional distress, with the end goal of a reduction in young suicide .

Every £10 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are changing lives.
