Mount Toubkal Trek 2024 · 9 August 2024 to 13 August 2024 ·

Farleigh Hospice provides hospice care & support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses. With approximately 40% of our annual running costs funded by the local NHS, we rely on the goodwill of the local mid Essex community to contribute to the £21,271 it costs to provide our services each day.

Story

*** flights and expenses have been independently covered so all fundraising goes direct to Farleigh***

Challenge Complete! Thanks to all those who have sponsored. It was a truly humbling and challenging experience with a wonderful group of people. The terrain and conditions were far more difficult than could have imagined Ed but so proud of us all for completing!

Thank you all again for the support!

Mount Toubkal- Morocco

This breath- taking but difficult challenge will have me camp for 2 nights whilst climbing northern Africa’s tallest peak, Jebel Toubkal, standing at a majestic 4,167m!

Why Farleigh is close to my heart:

My lovely Mum, Michele, lost her fight against cancer in June 2022 aged just 61.

Farleigh provided at- home help along with around the clock Hospice care.

They also provided invaluable support for my family and I, in the difficult times after my Mum’s devastating death.

When, less than a year later, my stepfather of 35 years- Steve- died after a very sudden illness Farleigh provided yet more support.

I’m taking part in this challenge to help to raise crucial funds. I’m also motivated to reach the top of the mountain on behalf of my Mum and so many like her, that it is unfortunately, not possible for.

I’d like to mark the first anniversary of Steve- and the second year without my brave Mum- by doing something to support the important work of Farleigh.

Michele loved nature, throughout her life she’d been a Yogi, Reiki Master, swimmer, swim- instructor and someone who loved to walk. Therefore, a physical, outdoor-challenge seemed a fitting way to celebrate her.
