In December 2020, our eldest grandson, then aged 13 was taken to A & E and the following day had an operation to remove a large benign brain tumour. Despite a promising first week of recovery, he suffered an extremely rare complication that left him in intensive care, suffering from injuries to his brain that meant he would have to relearn everything.

After 4 months in hospital, he then had 4 months stabilizing and rehabilitation with The Children’s Trust at Tadworth and was then able to return home.

The Childrens Trust runs a range of specialist care, education and therapy services for children and young people from across the UK and includes the UKs largest rehabilitation centre for children with acquired brain injury
