Story

About Me

I am a proud Learning Disability Nurse and Social Worker. My journey officially began in 2010 working alongside study as a Support Worker in RDaSH, where I witnessed firsthand the benefits of hydrotherapy for people with learning disabilities and neurodiverse conditions. I saw how the water gave people greater body autonomy and provided opportunities for sensory regulation—something I still cherish today whenever I attend SEND swimming sessions.

There’s something truly special about water: for some, it brings calm and relaxation; for others, it creates pure excitement and joy.

Join me in making waves of difference, as I dive through the clouds at Hibalstow on the 29th November, by donating to the hydrotherapy appeal.

Every donation helps—and together, we can make a splash that truly matters.

About the service ...

Our ambitious £250k therapy pool appeal was officially launched on Thursday 19 June at the Diamond Activity and Therapeutic Centre at Tickhill Road in partnership with representatives from Choice for All Doncaster (CHaD), who are working in partnership with us to co-design the new pool area.

Installed in 1996, the current pool no longer meets the needs of the people it was originally designed for. Our revamp will make the pool bigger so that more people more people will be able to benefit from its water based therapeutic exercises and sensory environment.

Water therapy is a vital part of the treatments we offer. The calming effect of the warm water eases pain, strengthens muscles, improves fitness, and promotes wellbeing. Having a thoroughly modern new pool and enriched sensory environment will greatly help us to provide a wider range of therapeutic support to a larger number of clients, their families and the wider community.
