We've been caring for people in Greater Manchester and Cheshire for more than half a century, and we have big plans for the future. We need a new, purpose-built hospice that will serve the needs of our community now and in the future.

Story

My own personal experience with St. Ann’s Hospice began at the tender age of 16; volunteering on their inpatient unit (in Little Hulton) on Sunday afternoons, prior to starting Medical School. I didn’t know then that Palliative Medicine would one day become my chosen Specialty. Throughout my Medical Training I’ve returned to St. Ann’s Hospice on numerous occasions, as a Medical Student, as a Junior Doctor and as a Registrar in Palliative Medicine. I’m now one of a group of Palliative Medicine Consultants who provide Senior Out of Hours Medical cover for the Hospice.

Only approximately 30% of Hospice funding is provided by the government. For Hospices to keep their doors open, the 70% shortfall needs to be obtained through fundraising activities!

St Ann’s Hospice has been here for you, your family, your friends, and everyone in the Greater Manchester community for over 50 years. During this time, we have provided thousands of local people who have cancer and other life-limiting illnesses with the specialist care and loving support they’ve needed, free of charge. Now, however, we urgently need you.

After half a century of caring, we desperately need a new hospice (in Heald Green) and additional facilities so that we can continue to deliver pioneering world-class care for everyone, for generations to come. If we do not act now, we are at real risk of closing services in the near future.

With the support of our Greater Manchester community, we can create a new hospice facility that ensures we can continue to deliver pioneering, world-class care for people in Greater Manchester for generations to come.

Our new purpose-built hospice will have private bedrooms, spacious and welcoming treatment rooms and space for patients and their loved ones to feel at home – all in beautiful, landscaped gardens.

Please help us to raise money towards the final 500 thousand pounds of a 2 million pounds total needed.

Thank you and…
