Sponsor My Swim – Help Keep Our School Afloat! 🏊‍♀️💦

This winter, I’ll be swapping dry land for deep water and swimming a virtual channel swim to raise money for our amazing school PTA, Friends of Foulds. Our PTA is a powerhouse of parents who somehow manage to juggle work, families, and fundraising with heroic levels of enthusiasm (and caffeine/prosecco!) They’ve been working tirelessly to help keep the school afloat through rising costs and a tricky budget deficit, doing everything from organising incredible fairs, race nights and other exciting events, to selling more cakes and ice lollies than should be legally possible.

That’s where my swim comes in. I’ll be swimming the equivalent distance of crossing the English Channel (21 miles/33km) in stages before the end of January. To keep things interesting, I'll also be incorporating 12 outdoor swims in water that's below 12 degrees Celsius.

I'm doing the challenge in stages for 3 main reasons:

1) I am SLOW at swimming (think determined pedalo rather than sleek speedboat.)

2) I have to fit this challenge around one of the busiest half terms of the year, an upcoming visit from my dad who lives across the pond, and Christmas! (For clarity, my dad lives in the states, not on the other side of Kenwood Ladies Pond 😁)

3) No pools are open long enough for me to attempt it all in one go. As I said, I'm slow!

Every splash and stroke will help fund essential school projects, from classroom resources to provision improvements, ensuring our children’s education doesn’t go belly-up.

Your sponsorship, big or small, will make a real difference. Think of it as investing in the next generation and getting a good laugh imagining me flailing gracefully through the water. Together, we can help our school stay buoyant, balance the books, and maybe even afford some new glue sticks (we’re running dangerously low).

Thank you for helping me make waves for a great cause!
