I am raising money for UNIQUE charity as my daughter has been diagnosed with an extremely rare chromosome loss or deletion. Aria's official diagnosis is a loss or deletion of 14q23.3, which means she is missing part of the gene on the 14th chromosome. She is the happiest little girl but has many battles ahead of her. Aria is cognitively around a 6 month old when she is nearly 2.

She faces many communication issues so we are learning to use UK makaton to support her communication and lack of understanding. Aria also struggles with socialisation with strangers or people she doesn't know very well. Aria also has a massive development delay as well so a lot of things that other kids her age would do she will be later in doing and there is a possibility she may not do them at any point.

Over the course of the month i will be doing many things to raise awareness. I will be doing many lives on tiktok sharing awareness and others stories so people are aware of what rare chromo month is all about and who unique is there to support. A group of us are going to a sponsored walk and live document as we do the walks. My friend is going to make 23 cupcakes with the UNIQUE logo on to hand out to people and hopefully get chatting to people and raise awareness. We also will be handing out flyers to people to make them aware of UNIQUE. I will also be aiming to sign new things on live everyday and also sign new songs too on live streams try and get more awareness around not all children are vocal and not all disabilities are physical.
