Story
In April 2027 I’ll be taking on the London Marathon to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity. A charity that means more to me and my family than I can put into words.
My dad was a firefighter for his entire career. He absolutely loved his job and being a firefighter wasn’t just what he did it was who he was. Sadly he passed away suddenly at just 41 years old.
Overnight our world changed forever. My mum was left to raise three children on her own while dealing with overwhelming grief, a mortgage, and so much uncertainty. It was one of the hardest times of our lives.
Throughout that incredibly difficult period the Fire Fighters Charity was there for us. They provided support when we needed it most and helped our family navigate a future we never imagined we’d be facing.
The work they continue to do for firefighters, retired firefighters, and their families is truly incredible. They are there through injury, illness, bereavement, and times of crisis offering practical and emotional support to those who have dedicated their lives to protecting others.
Running the London Marathon will be one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever taken on but it feels like a small way to give something back to a charity that gave so much to my family.
If you’re able to support me with a donation no matter how big or small I’d be incredibly grateful. Every penny will help the Fire Fighters Charity continue to be there for firefighters and their families when they need it most just like our family did.
Thank you so much for your support❤️
