So I’m not a runner, but my lovely friend Emily suggested the Bristol 10k and here I am.

This felt like a good opportunity to try and raise some money for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust and raise awareness of Ectopic pregnancy. As some of you will already know I unfortunately had two ectopic pregnancies in April 2019 and January 2020. These resulted in ruptured tubes, emergency surgeries and a less than straightforward fertility journey. I’ve tried to get my fitness game together since then and I’ve lost over 2 and 1/2 stone…but signing up for this run is way out of my comfort zone. I’ll be running with my beautiful friends Emily & Hannah who may need to drag me to the end!

There is a crucial need for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust. When someone has a suspected ectopic pregnancy or is diagnosed with the condition, they and their partners have many questions and worries. They provide those affected with somewhere to go, providing information and support. People gain comfort from being among others who have had a similar experience and many healthcare professionals signpost families to their services.
