Story

We are heartbroken to share that Sven passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, after many years of courageously living with cancer. He met every challenge with resilience, grace, and humour – inspiring everyone who knew him.

In his final weeks, Sven was cared for by the extraordinary team at Martlets, our local hospice in Brighton. Their compassion, professionalism, and humanity gave us comfort and peace during the most difficult moments. They treated Sven with dignity and kindness, and gave us the support we needed to spend our time together focused on love, laughter, and saying goodbye with grace.

We are deeply grateful to Martlets for everything they did – not just for Sven, but for all of us. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we ask that you consider making a donation in Sven’s memory to Martlets. Your contribution will help them continue to provide this vital care to other families facing the unimaginable.

Sven believed in the power of kindness and connection. Supporting Martlets is one way we can honour his legacy and say thank you for the care that made such a difference.

With heartfelt thanks,

Becci, Finn, Wilf and all of Sven’s family
