To someone on the outside... I am a healthy, active, outdoorsy person, a yoga teacher and an equestrian. As an equine-assisted coach, I love to be outside as much as possible or walking with my three lovely labs.

But I also have a genetic link to a hypertrophic cardiac myopathy, ( HOCM ) and was diagnosed with a heart condition at 37.

It can cause me a bunch of problems trying to exercise, not least pain and extreme fatigue. But worse is the fear that if I do too much, I may….. just collapse into a puddle. You see, my heart condition is linked to a neurological condition, and the two together make for comical, if not inconvenient, disruptions in life...

I don't get scared anymore, (that's what i tell myself ) there is no point.. but I know they scare those around me.

I want to run this to prove my heart condition doesn’t stop me and to show my family, especially my nephews and nieces, that nothing can stop them.

So, please sling me some dollar, and if you want to come for a run with me that would be mega too :)

Without the support of charities like the BHF. I would not be on the daily medication I need, nor be able to go for the checks I have yearly to support my heart health at Manchester Heart Clinic.

. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
