We promote the Catholic faith to help educate, relieve poverty & sickness

Story

During recent refurbishment works at my local Parish, some issues were identified that require urgent repair. Amongst the problems are dry rot and water ingress from the roof and gutter area.

St Fillans has served Houston and the surrounding community for almost 200 years. Established in 1841, it is the oldest church in the diocese of Paisley and requires some well deserved maintenance to serve the community for hundreds of years more.

Since moving to the area almost two years ago, Father Andrew and Sister Mary Frances have been most welcoming to our family. From setting up Easter egg hunts in the garden for all the kids to enjoy, to arranging special services aimed at giving children the chance to participate and the time to understand, they really nurture a friendly environment. My youngest daughter was baptised by Father Andrew in the church.

I am hoping to give a little back by raising funds for the repair works, so will be participating in the Glasgow Half Marathon on 1st October 2023. I would be grateful if you could make a donation to help with the restoration.

Thanks for taking the time to read and making a donation if you are able.
