Story

Coast to Coast — 190 miles in 12 days

On 1st September I’m setting off to walk the Coast to Coast, from St Bees on the west coast to Robin Hood’s Bay on the east, roughly 190 miles over 12 days.

It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time, and this year I finally decided to stop talking about it and actually do it.

The route takes me through the Lake District, across the Yorkshire Dales and eventually onto the North York Moors before I reach the North Sea at Robin Hood’s Bay.

I’ll be walking on my own, through whatever the British weather decides to throw at me.

As I’m going to all the trouble of walking across an entire country, I thought I might as well try to raise some money along the way.

I’m raising money for Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team, a local volunteer team who give their time to help people in trouble on the hills and moors. As so much of my time is spent walking in the places they help to keep people safe, it felt like a very fitting charity to support.

Anything you can spare would be hugely appreciated. 🖤
