Story
We are attempting to raise at least one million pounds for much-needed M.E research. M.E is a badly neglected disease and the patient community need a biomarker, treatments, and a cure. We cannot have these without research.
It is estimated that 1.25 million people have this disease in the UK now (M.E/C.F.S and post-covid M.E/C.F.S - July 2023) but government research funding is not adequate or at appropriate levels.
The undeserved and imposed stigma that surrounds this disease, and makes having the disease much harder to bear, will also be tackled with this campaign. We will tackle this stigma with every opportunity given to us.
Challenge -
To hold a fundraising concert for at least 1500 people somewhere in the UK in the week of 16th July 2024 to mark ME Foggy Dog's 10th anniversary of M.E campaigning and fundraising (check out mefoggydog.org).
The 'challenge' is to do this relying solely on the goodwill and voluntary contributions of materials, skills, time, and effort of individuals and businesses.
