Story
Liz, Bex and Neil are taking on the challenge to walk Hadrian's Wall. The trek is a demanding 84 miles from coast to coast, ascending 1,132 feet, over 6 days.
The Redways know this quality family time in the great outdoors is a great way to increase mental and physical wellbeing.
And they have decided to accept not just the physical challenge, but a charity fundraising challenge too! They have chosen to raise money for an amazing charity - Youth Talk - your sponsorship will help get them through the training and walk the wall come rain or shine (or sleet or snow).
Youth Talk’s mission is to provide the best, possible mental health support to young people in St Albans and the surrounding areas. It's important for there to be a safe, trustworthy, calm and professional environment for young people to feel comfortable in and share whatever is on their mind, Youth Talk can offer this.
Many of you will remember just how hard those teenage years and early twenties can be. Add to that the pandemic, lock-downs, struggles to catch up at school or university and of course the unavoidable pressures of social media. No wonder the need for mental health support is growing year on year - with unimaginably long waiting lists to access this type of support though the NHS.
Well, thanks to your donations and support Youth Talk will be able to continue to provide local young people with one-to-one counselling support during a real time of need.
Youth Talk need £500,000 this year to help provide free support to the growing numbers of young people who need them.
£900 could provide a free, complete counselling course to one young person.
£50 could help provide a young person with a free counselling session to open up about whatever’s on their mind.
£10 can make sure there’s someone at the end of the phone when a young person is brave enough to take that first step towards getting help.
Please donate and support our charity challenge. Your donation will make a real and lasting difference to a young person who is struggling today.
Thank you
