We provide a community centre for disabled children and their families in Wokingham Borough and surrounding areas. We are an entirely voluntary, parent-led charity which provides activities, support, therapies, training and clubs for disabled children of all ages and all types of disability.

Story

As a local Early Years setting, we are proud to support Our House, Building for The Future which is used by many of our families and is such a valuable resource in our community.

Each day of March we will be walking (at least) 1 mile per day, which will bring our total miles walked to over 500 miles! We will be incorporating this into our daily routine as we know how good exercise is for the brain, body and soul! We will be linking our daily walks to our curriculum branch of showing an interest and understanding of nature as we will be observing wildlife and the environment as we go.

We welcome families to join our miles outside of preschool time and to join us on our daily walks even if your children are not with us that day!

Come rain or shine, we shall march!

Please sponsor our setting, with children aged 2-5 joining in this challenge to raise money for such a worthwhile charity! We are hoping to raise £500, one pound for each mile we each accomplish.

More about the charity:

We’re a parent-led charity centre for children with additional needs in and around Berkshire, offering activities, support and therapies. Based in Wokingham, our groundbreaking centre ‘Our house’ is a haven for both disabled children and their families where they can meet and all children are celebrated. It is a safe haven where disabled children can relax, have fun and be truly valued and accepted for who they are.

We also give individual advice and support for young people who want to access work, education and cultural opportunities.
