We are running the London Marathon in April 2024 to help raise money for St Raphael's Hospice.
St Raphael’s were amazing at looking after Reece’s parents Ron and Terri in their final months, but also at supporting the family during their illnesses and after they passed.
Terri was a passionate fundraiser for St Raphael’s before she became ill. Now we are picking up the torch and running the marathon to raise funds that will help St Raphael’s continue to provide exceptional end of life care and support to people like Ron and Terri and their loved ones.
We are sharing a sponsorship form as it’s easier for us and for you! Quick message from each of us below:
Reece
St Raphael’s provided excellent support and care for my Dad before his passing in 2007. Following this, the hospice remained a constant in our families lives with my Mum continuing to passionately volunteer and raising funds and awareness before she died in 2015
Lauren
St Raphael's does such amazing work. I have always said I'd complete a marathon for charity one day and can think of no better time than 2024 for St Raphael's! We'd love your support through what I am sure will be a tough schedule!
We’re both determined to take on the London Marathon in their memories and to support the hospice in continuing to do their excellent work. We started running during Covid and this will be our first Marathon having run a half last year. It’s a daunting distance but we just have to keep running right? … right?!

We are also very keen to hear your song/podcast/audiobook recommendations to listen to as we trudge through the Winter runs so please post away any suggestions,
Thank you so much for supporting us!

With one month to go until race day we wanted to share a quick update.
As of today we have raised £3,380 - way ahead of where we expected to be at this point!
We wanted to say a massive THANK YOU for all of your incredibly generous donations. The funds will go a long way for the hospice to continue to provide excellent care and we have been blown away by the support we’ve received.
There’s been a few shaky moments but training has been progressing well.
Between Lauren and I, we’ve ran a total 414km since the beginning of January, the equivalent of running from our home in London to Lauren’s family home in Bristol and back (and then adding on another cool 50km jog).
We’re both now in unprecedented territory, running distances further than ever before (Reece – 30km, Lauren 24km and taking on 27km this weekend).
We have also discovered that with extra running comes extra hunger and I am fairly certain that I (Reece) am currently the number #1 buyer of my local Gregg’s Caramel custard doughnuts… Meanwhile, Lauren has been on a mission to try a Twirl from every local supermarket to ensure they taste the same everywhere (They do but there’s always more supermarkets to check out…)
We plan to kick on with some longer distances over the coming weeks and are looking forward to the big day. We will post details here closer to the event on how you can follow us on the day if you’d like to.
In the meantime, thanks once again for all of your donations and please feel free to forward the link along to anyone we may have missed!
