Just to clarify, there’s absolutely no requirement for me to raise money for a charity as part of this event.
This isn’t a charity boxing match, it’s a proper boxing show. That said, I’ve chosen to raise money for a charity because raising money and awareness is something that matters to me.
I completely understand that not everyone will be able to support me in person by buying tickets, especially with how expensive life is at the moment.
If you’re unable to attend but would still like to show support, donating to a this local charity would genuinely mean a lot to me and, more importantly, would help people who really need it.
Recently, it feels more important than ever to raise awareness around violence against women and girls. We see it highlighted everywhere, on TV, adverts, in parks, on the streets, but despite this, far too many women ,girls (&men), continue to lose their lives due to the actions of reckless abusers every single day.
That’s why this cause is close to my heart.
For me, this is about using this opportunity to do some good and to support those who are in need, in any way I possibly can
