Story
I’m running the London Marathon for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that means a great deal to me.
Cancer has affected my family directly. I lost my Nana to it when I was young, she was my best friend growing up, and her loss is something that has stayed with me ever since. My mum is also a nurse, so I’ve seen first-hand the incredible care, strength, and compassion that goes into supporting people and families through the hardest moments of their lives.
I was recently invited to meet some of the young people supported by Teenage Cancer Trust, and I was completely blown away by their stories, by what they’ve had to overcome, and by their resilience. The specialist support this charity provides for young people diagnosed with cancer is truly humbling, and the impact they have goes far beyond medical care.
This will be the first marathon I’ve ever attempted, and while it’s a huge challenge for me, it feels incredibly meaningful to be running it for a cause like this. I’ll be documenting my training and marathon journey over on TikTok @reecejbibby if you’d like to follow along.
If you’re able to donate anything at all, it would mean the world to me. Every contribution goes directly towards helping young people with cancer get the care, support, and understanding they deserve.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for supporting such an important cause.
