On June 24th, two earthquakes measuring 7.1 and 7.5 struck 39 seconds apart in north-central Venezuela. The damage in Caracas and La Guaira has been severe. Communities already facing extreme hardship have been hit hard, with access to clean water, shelter, and basic services severely disrupted in the worst-affected areas. The US Geological Survey currently estimates between 10,000 and 100,000 fatalities.
