Story
Mental health and suicide prevention are deeply personal to us.

We’re Terri and Stephen. Terri has lived through severe depression, addiction and loss, and has survived suicide attempts. Stephen has also experienced times when his own mental health became overwhelming. These experiences are part of why we’re taking on this challenge.
We know how much it matters to have someone there when life feels too much. Someone who listens without judgement, even when you struggle to find the words. That is why we’re raising money for Samaritans.
On the 3rd of April 2027, we’ll begin RELAY 116 123: a 1,500-mile husband-and-wife relay run from Tótkomlós in Hungary to Leeds in the UK, connecting the place where Stephen grew up with the place where Terri grew up.
At the heart of this journey is a simple message:
"What you can't do alone, you can do with help.
Ask for it. Accept it. Then reach back."
Asking for help can be difficult. Accepting it can be difficult too. But we believe nobody should have to face their hardest moments alone and when we’re able, we can reach back and be there for someone else.
The number 116 123 is Samaritans’ helpline number. We’ve put it in our name and set our fundraising goal at £116,123 to keep that number at the heart of everything we do.
It’s an ambitious goal, and this will be a demanding journey. Along the way, we want to speak openly about mental health and suicide prevention, help people feel less alone, and raise money so Samaritans can continue being there to listen.
If you can, please donate. If you can’t, sharing our page can help our story "and that number" reach someone who needs it.
Thank you for supporting us.
