Thanks for taking the time to visit Remarkable Little Robinsons JustGiving page.
We would like to set a very ambitious target of raising £10,000 for The Rainbow centre for many reasons;
* Firstly We are going to be jumping out of a plane (for me as Aubreys mum I will not be doing it for any less money due to my fear of heights).
*Secondly Specialised equipment to benefit children with disabilities is extremely expensive as well as therapies that can make the difference in their quality of life, so the more money raised the better for the sustainability of The Rainbow Centre.
About Why we are Fundraising:
As a Robinson Family we have been on a massive difficult journey since 14th November 2021. Aubrey was born and showed us how incredibly brave and determined she was to live. Without going into too much painful detail about Aubreys remarkable journey to date; we can say that Aubrey has a brain injury and her development is delayed and her future unknown. This is such a massive thing to contend with as parents and to learn to live with so that it does not steal the wonders of how amazing your child is at each and every stage of their life. For us it has been difficult mix of grief and gratitude, but what we can say is its focused our attention on the little things we would have totally taken for granted had Aubrey be born a fully able child. The dark days led to a lot of internet searching….which led to finding some incredibly inspiring children on Instagram detailing their amazing journeys to creating an independent life.
"sophiasjourneyx " on Instagram lit the light of hope that the road ahead will be ok and Aubrey will have a wonderful life. Sophie helped us discovered the therapy "conductive education" and a long Google search of conductive education in Hampshire led us to the winning find of
THE RAINBOW CENTRE FAREHAM.
Why is The Rainbow Centre so amazing;
The Rainbow centre have been simply wonderful. They were quick to offer Aubrey a trial session of an Early intervention group and then after this a full assessment. Following this they offered Aubrey a space on the Early intervention Group- which they fund off of donations run by the charity. This has been a massive opportunity for Aubrey to create new pathways in her developing brain due to neuroplasticity . The Rainbow centre recognise the value in early intervention in a child’s life. Aubrey started her Journey with The Rainbow centre still working on her balance to sit independently at nearly 18months and learning to take weight through her legs with support of specialist shoes and an adult. Aubrey is now approaching two, she has recently learned to crawl, is standing with support for a short amount of time and most importantly very happy and proud of what she has achieved. We have the Rainbow Centre to thank for this.
Furthermore, Mental health is important to us as a family. The daunting prospect as a parent that your child is likely to suffer depression and/or anxiety due to being A-Typical in society is so difficult to comprehend. We feel very positive about Aubrey developing mental health due to the ethos that The Rainbow centre has created. They offer Saturday clubs for older children who are at school age and may need help with confidence and self esteem. They offer a lot of opportunities for social events so you can meet other people who “get it”.
We could list off many more amazing things from the Rainbow centre, including the amount of support emotionally for families but we are aware masses of writing may be off putting so will leave this semi short and sweet.
Please check out there website for more information- someone you know may benefit from what they have to offer.
xx Thank you for taking the time The Robinson family xx
