Story
On 24th September 1984, our much-loved granny and mother’s life was cut short due to domestic violence. Karam Kaur, had experienced domestic abuse for most of her married life, and owing to the stigma and cultural barriers to seeking help, she stayed with her perpetrator our dad/grandfather, who took her life. No one had the right to control her, own her or decide when she died.
In this 40th year, we would like to honour Karam Kaur and help raise money which will go towards helping others, who find themselves in similar positions. We strive for a future where women like our mum/grandmother can lead lives safe and free from domestic abuse. That is why we have chosen to work with Karma Nirvana. You can read more about Karma Nirvana below and how your donation will help.
About Domestic Abuse
