Our beautiful mom, Katie, was just 49 years old when she was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer. From that moment on, she faced her diagnosis with incredible strength, courage, and unwavering hope.

For 11 months, Mom fought with everything she had. She completed 10 cycles of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, underwent multiple radiotherapy sessions, and never once let her illness define her. She continued to live her life as fully as she always had, making memories, laughing, loving, and cherishing every moment with her family.

Katie was the healthiest, most dedicated person you could ever meet. She never smoked, never drank, worked out daily, and devoted her life to her family, myself, my younger sister Lucie, and our wonderful dad, who

she loved so deeply. No one could have been more undeserving of this disease.

Despite everything she went through, Mom never lost her sparkle. She lit up every room she walked into. Everyone who met her fell in love with her instantly. She had the most beautiful soul, the warmest heart, and the kindest spirit. She truly was the most amazing person you could ever meet.

Cholangiocarcinoma is so rare that many people have never even heard of it. Symptoms are often not present, or are so mild that they go unnoticed, until it is too late. By the time many people are diagnosed, the disease has already advanced, and most do not even get the chance to access treatment.

One of Mom’s biggest wishes was to change this. Katie’s legacy is to make a difference in how this cancer is understood, diagnosed, and dealt with. She was passionate about raising awareness so that others might be diagnosed sooner, receive treatment earlier, and have a better chance at life.

Sadly, the disease progressed, and we lost our precious angel mom far too soon. Our hearts are broken, but we are determined to honor her legacy.

This fundraiser is in memory of Katie and in support of raising awareness and funding for cholangiocarcinoma research. We hope to help shine a light on this devastating cancer and support future patients and families facing the same battle.
