In Memory of Nicolette McCarthy

Very sadly, Nicolette McCarthy suddenly passed away on the 19th September 2023. She was 46 years old. She leaves a hole in our hearts and her loss means that our lives will never be the same.
Nicolette was a beautiful mother of 5 children. She was a loving wife. She was a caring sister and beloved daughter.
Above all, Nicolette always put her family first and made sure any occasion was a special event full of love and excitement. She loved Christmas, Easter and Birthdays. She was often described as ‘a kid on Christmas morning’ full of excitement and playful energy that we loved.
She worked tirelessly to make sure her children were provided for, even when times were tough.
She grew up with a love for animals, especially horses and as a child had aspirations of being a riding instructor. She had many horses she loved including Queenie, Freckles and Paddy. In more recent years she has her 2 Labradors at home Trooper and Storm. She loved them all dearly.
She loved musical theatre with her favourite show being Phantom of the Opera. She loved going to the shows with her family and anything musical, including Disney and even 70s and 80s rock.
Nicolette was a beautiful woman who only ever thought of other people. She dedicated her life to the NHS, inspired to help women with birthing after her own experiences. Starting out as an auxiliary nurse, she worked her way to become a registered staff nurse before specialising in midwifery training. Midwifery was her true passion in life, and most recently she achieved the title of Matron at Crowborough Birthing Centre. There her focus was the experience of new mothers and she worked to get the centre reopened after the pandemic.
If you would like to make a donation in Nicolette honour, the family would welcome donations towards the mental health charity Mind. Which is dear to our hearts, helping and supporting people with mental health issues.
