Story
Hi, I’m Remy and I've been qualified as a mental health nurse for nearly 15 years. I have a passion for supporting parity of esteem – ensuring equality between mental health and physical health for the patients I work with. I have loved supporting my Trust charity in the past by helping to deliver Christmas presents to patients and running the vitality 10k in 2024, but this year I will be setting myself my biggest challenge yet! On 29th August I will be taking on the National 3 Peaks Challenge. This HUGE challenge will be mentally and physically demanding as I take on the 3 highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) all within 24 hours! I will be hiking a distance of 37km and an altitude of 10,170 feet.
I will be engaging in an intense training programme to prepare me over the next coming months. There will be blood, sweat and tears… blisters, grit and glory!
Each of these mountains is a challenge on its own, so naturally I’ve decided to do all three. To keep my spirits high (and to get me through this slightly questionable decision), I’m aiming to raise £500 per mountain - £1500 in total for charity. If I only reach half of my target, then please send help as I’ll be stuck at the top of Scafell Pike!
I would love for this money to go towards setting up something meaningful on the Springfield village site to support healthier and happier lives for not only our patients and staff, but the local community too. In fact, I’m so excited and proud to be doing this huge challenge that I’m going to start off the fundraising with £100. So, get on board, big or small, your donation will make such a difference and don’t forget to leave an outrageously funny comment to keep me going on the day!
Please donate, my thighs have already filed a formal complaint!
