Story
I'm taking part in the Virtual London Marathon, and although I can't physically be in London this weekend, I will proudly cover this regal distance on the familiar streets of Cambridge, the city that has been my home for twenty-two years. My route won't take me past Tower Bridge or the finish line on The Mall, but each of the forty-two-kilometer-plus stretch will take me through places that shape my everyday life and personal history. Most importantly, this time I'm running for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, because my overriding goal in life has always been to selflessly help others. This exceptional organization saves lives every day by bringing immediate, specialized medical assistance from air and land directly to the scene.
Running a marathon at my own pace and in such a close-to-my-heart setting, yet for such a noble and life-saving cause, gives this sporting challenge a completely new, unique, and incredibly sentimental dimension.
I might see me around this Sunday
Thank you so much for supporting me, every penny will help to save lives across East Anglia
