Story
This year, I’m taking part in the Friends Fighting Cancer charity tournament to help raise money for an incredible charity that does amazing work for people who need it most🧡.
All support you can give will be hugely appreciated and put to fantastic use🙏.
This isn’t about football being the challenge. I’m fortunate to be able to play the game I love. The real challenge is faced every day by individuals and families dealing with cancer — a fight no one chooses and no one should have to face alone. Sadly, this is something I’m all too familiar with, having lost my father to cancer only a few months ago, which is why supporting Friends Fighting Cancer means so much to me.
Friends Fighting Cancer began in 2008 as Football for Cancer, starting from a single tournament, and has since grown into an incredible local charity that has raised over £1 million to support families affected by cancer. In 2019, the charity became Friends Fighting Cancer, reflecting its growth beyond football into something much bigger — a community built on support, compassion, and action.
As a local charity, Friends Fighting Cancer can act fast, often providing financial support to families in less than 24 hours through their Grant Scheme. They also offer respite breaks, grief recovery support, and help local food banks, making a real difference at incredibly difficult times.
