Story
After the success of last year, 2024 marks the return of UoN Co- Responders Responderthon!
We are a group of University of Nottingham Students who volunteer as Co-Responders with the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) responding to 999 calls to provide life- saving, pre hospital care to patients across Nottingham and Derby. Since the scheme's launch in 2014, we have volunteered over 43,000 hours and have been dispatched to 14,000 emergency 999 calls, positively impacting the lives of thousands of patients and families in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Thanks to our active, experienced and highly trained volunteers, we are proud to be the country's busiest University Co-Responder schemes.
However, the scheme is self funded and relies on donations and grants to keep running.
Alongside our full time studies, as a scheme, we will attempt to provide our services 24/7 for 1 whole week ! This means that at least one of our cars, containing a solo responder volunteer or a pair of Co-Responder volunteers, will be attending 999 calls continuously across Nottingham ALL WEEK, 24/7.
The dates of this years Respondeerthon will be:
Start-18:00- Friday 7th June 2024
Finish- 18:00- Friday 14th June 2024
Please donate on this page and share with family and friends to allow us to raise the vital funds to keep the scheme running, we really appreciate your support!
