At Amber’s residential centres disadvantaged young people have the chance to leave behind their troubled pasts. They are supported to overcome personal barriers and gain the social, educational and practical tools to lead successful, fulfilling, independent lives and be valuable members of society.

Story

On 8th December, 2024, I am taking part in a charity boxing match to raise much needed funds for The Amber Foundation. I know first-hand that the service they provide is a literal life saver for many young people. Amber gave me a lifeline, a sense of community and has inspired me to do better things in my life, taking part in this event would not have been possible before Amber and without their support I would still on streets. About Amber:

Amber supports young people (aged 18-30), providing a temporary home for those who are homeless and unemployed, giving them the space and support they need to rebuild and transform their lives.

The young people Amber work with are the most marginalised in society and can be struggling with incredibly complex issues, such as family breakdown, abuse, leaving care, childhood trauma, mental ill-health, addiction or prison release. Their goal is simple: to help young people move on from Amber into employment / training and a home of their own.

Amber now houses and offers a programme of support to over 100 young people at any one time across our four centres in Kent, Surrey, Wiltshire and Devon, helping young people move positively towards a better, brighter and healthier future.
