Cycling the length of the UK for Heal Rewilding

Reuben Turvey is raising money for Heal Rewilding

John o' Groats to Land's End · 4 June 2026

Heal is a charity dedicated to rewilding land ownership, to heal the land, heal nature and heal ourselves. Our goal is to create new rewilding sites across England where wildlife and people can flourish.

Story

Hello!

I am cycling the length of the UK from John O Groats to Land's End in June! I will be raising money for Heal Rewilding, a small charity who have dedicated their love and care to buying land and giving it back to nature. Heal Rewilding’s ambition is to acquire a rewilding site in every English county, 48 in total, with Heal Somerset as their first.

I have been chatting to them personally and I feel so excited to raise money for such a great group of people who passionately look after the natural environment. I will be visiting their site in Somerset along the way, camping out at their campsite and having a tour of the project.

I cycled the length of New Zealand on a whim just over a year ago. Once I realised what a mammoth task it was, I wished I had raised some money for a good cause. It is tough to spend that long pedalling. I will be cycling 1700km through the Highlands, Lakes, Snowdonia, and killer South West hills; wildcamping along the way, which adds its own element of challenge.

If you donate £20 or more, you can sponsor a 3 x 3 metre square of rewilding land for a year. In return, you’ll receive a What3Words location so you can identify and, if you wish, visit your sponsored square. If you are interested, please select the "I'm happy to share my contact details" box just before payment and I’ll message you privately to arrange this. If you’re able to give more, that would be amazing. I’d love to raise £1,000, so please donate whatever you can afford!

For those interested in joining me on the cycle, you are more than welcome. If you fancied cycling a few KM, a couple of days, camping for an evening, putting me up for a night, or meeting me at the finish line - I would absolutely love that and we can try to make it align. This is my current plan (will change a little here and there):

4th June: John o' Groats

6th June: Loch Ness (270km)

10th June: Glasgow (550km)

13th June: Lake District (880km)

16th June: Snowdonia (1100km)

19th June: Bristol (1300km)

21st June: Heal Somerset (1350km)

23rd June: Dartmoor (1500km)

25th June - Lands End (1700km)
