Story
This summer, I will be running home from the Arctic Circle to the South Coast of the UK - over a marathon a day, for 85 days.
The route will take me through Norway, Finland (briefly), Sweden (majorly), Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and finally into the UK, where I will run across the South Downs to finish outside the front door of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
In total, the challenge is around 2,500 miles (4,100 km), averaging 30 miles a day for 85 days.
I will be supported by my dad and sister, and we will be living out of a camper van, camping and wild-camping along the way. I am fully self-funding the challenge through savings, and taking a period of unpaid leave from work, so that all money raised can go directly to St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
St Wilfrid’s Hospice provided end of life care to my grandparents, both at-home and in-hospice, and the work they do in the West Sussex area is nothing short of outstanding.
I am excited to pay back what is just a small amount when compared to the impact they have on the lives across the county.
