Story
At Reuters, we prioritise the safety of journalists and are proud to support the Rory Peck Trust (RPT) — a vital organisation that ensures freelance journalists receive essential safety training and support around the world.
This year, I’ve decided to take real action to raise awareness and funds for RPT.
In July, I cycled a butt-hardening 200 miles in two days from London to Manchester.
In August, I ran flat out for 20 minutes as part of a sprint triathlon with my Reuters teammates, Bill and Mark.
And in September, I’ll be swimming around an island in the Solent — which might be the hardest one yet, since my swimming is... let’s say, a work in progress.
I’m doing this because I believe deeply in RPT’s mission. After spending much of my life in war zones, I’m convinced that accurate, truthful reporting could reduce conflict around the world.
Please help me support the journalists who risk everything to tell the stories that matter. Every donation counts.
