We are My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and we're absolutely committed to our goal: A World Free of MND. We will leave no stone unturned in the relentless pursuit of this goal as we fund, guide and enable the smartest, most efficient MND research to catalyse a cure for motor neuron disease.

Story

Why have we chosen to support this amazing charity? Firstly, My Name’5 Doddie is a charity created by Doddie Weir, OBE and Scottish forward, and is close to the heart of our rugby teams throughout the school. However, we are also supporting our former colleague, Lynda Turbet. Lynda taught in the secondary school from 1987- 2008 and she, very importantly, set up our very first Drama Department. The family were part of the school staff and pupil community alike as both of her sons William(Class of ‘98) and Rory(Class of ‘02 ) attended the school. In December 2016 she was diagnosed with motor neurone disease - exactly the same year as Doddie Weir. The condition is incurable and untreatable, occurring when the brain sends messages to the muscles which don’t respond, affecting physical mobility, speech and the processes involved in swallowing and breathing.
