Story
We are a group of year 12 students at the RGS Guildford who are cycling to support the Max Windle Memorial Trust. This 2 day challenge takes the pilgrims off-road around the Isle of Wight, over to Portsmouth and then up to Guildford. We will cover a distance of 185km across Sunday the 29th and Monday the 30th of June, dedicating 1 mile of our journey to each individual who is lost to suicide every week in the UK. The route features a total of 2000m of elevation, making this a very tough physical challenge. We’re doing this in the name of Max Windle and his foundation, raising suicide awareness and specifically advocating for men’s mental health among teenagers, which is an increasingly significant issue that needs addressing. Max was a valued member of the RGS family, who tragically passed away at the age of 16 after suffering from depression. The funds from the foundation are shared across various charities for men’s mental health, providing support to young men and helping them speak up. We would greatly appreciate your support for our challenge – it’s for a fantastic cause and very close to all our hearts.
