Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Our friend David was a man of many passions. He loved his work as a journalist and especially as the creator and presenter of the 'Ukraine: The Latest' podcast for The Telegraph, which highlighted daily the plight, horror and occasional hope of the war in Ukraine.

But he also loved many other things; music, theatre, ancient languages, comedy, Warhammer and Napoleonic history. But chief amongst these passions, was cricket. A late starter, he showed the true zeal of the convert. Returning to the UK after working abroad, he founded his own team, Larkhall Wanderers CC. He played the game as he lived his life, with that passion, purpose and a smile on his face.

David passed away suddenly last September, aged 32. He had an undiagnosed heart condition.

On 3rd May, Larkhall Wanderers CC are playing in a charity fixture against Royal Household CC at Windsor Castle, an amazing afternoon and one that David would have loved.

We're hoping to raise lots of money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of our dear friend, and to help others in the future.

Any donations and kind messages that you might have would be very welcome.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.

Thank you for your support.
