Rhiannon's fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK

Rhiannon Blake is raising money for Parkinson’s UK

Leeds 10K 2025 · 15 June 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

In June of 2025 I'm running the Leeds 10k (my first ever race) to help raise money for Parkinson's UK.

My Grandad David has had Parkinson's since I can remember and I want my effort to contribute to helping cure the disease. He was a fantastic Structural Engineer but sadly had to give up working due to how his Parkinson's had progressed.

Not only is it hard for my Grandad but my Nanna, who also had a brother with Parkinson's, is now essentially my Grandad's carer (though she makes sure to keep him on his toes!)

I want there to be a day where we can finally cure Parkinson's and help over 150,000 people in the UK living with the disease.
