Story
So here it goes! After years of stalling, on the 10th September 2023, I will be running the Great North Run for a fantastic North-East charity; The Key!
The GNR is something that as a proud Geordie I have always wanted to do, but never felt able to and at times just walking 13.1 miles without pain seemed a far distant goal. Running is something that has helped me through a lot of tough moments in the past few years and though every run is still a challenge, getting out the door and into the fresh air no matter the distance or speed, feels like an achievement in itself.
I figured if I am putting myself through this, why not raise some money for a good cause in the process? And so this year, I will be running for The Key, a local charity that works hard to inspire young people in our region facing challenging circumstances.
For over thirty years The Key has worked in partnership with organisations to help develop the skills of young people so that they have the confidence and drive to create better futures and recognise the positive impact they can make in society.
Please donate what you can to this fantastic cause and if nothing else, give me a little motivation to put my trainers on and get out of the door.
Thanks,
Rhian
