Rhianna's 30k in 30 days for EYECAN.

Rhianna Sohier is raising money for EYECAN.
In memory of Lewis Fox

30k in 30 days

EYECAN is Jersey’s only charity focused solely on supporting Islanders with sight impairment. We work closely with all age groups, from infants through to the elderly, enabling people with a sight impairment and their families to benefit from social events, activities and tailored support. It is this partnership approach that ensures those affected by sight impairment are empowered to live more independently with their sight loss. EYECAN is one of the Island’s oldest charities. Formerly known as the Jersey Blind Society, we were established in 1886. Our name has changed to EYECAN to reinforce that we are here to support people at all stages of sight loss. Anyone with a sight impairment can access the support given by EYECAN.

Story

I am raising money for EYECAN by swimming 30,000 meters (30km) in 30 days through the month of April.

EYECAN supported my Papa for over a year after he was diagnosed with age related Macular Degeneration. They would pick him up on a Thursday where he would be given a lovely lunch, partake in activities and gave him a space to socialise and meet new people. He always looked forward to Thursdays and had such a wonderful time. They supported him with special glasses and a magnifying tool and were such a help to us as a family.

April is the perfect month for this challenge, not only because it has 30 days in it but it is also the month my Papa sadly passed away in 2024.

Thank you so much for reading and donating to such an amazing charity.
