Over the coming months I have committed to raising a significant amount of money for incredible Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, which supports families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. When a child has a serious illness, family life is turned upside down and time becomes more precious than ever. Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support, for as long as is needed. Rainbow Trust supports the whole family including parents, carers, the unwell child, brothers, sisters and grandparents.

Then in March 2026, I will add to the challenge of fundraising another personal challenge and take on an adventure challenge in the Arctic! For anyone who knows me, you will know how little I enjoy being cold and how I have a hot bath every single night - summer or winter - so this challenge will be big for me, both physically and mentally, and will push me way, way out of my comfort zone! Not to mention that fact that I will be going away from my children for the first time since I became a mother…

Both challenges will push me to do things that I don’t necessarily believe I can (yet!). I encourage the children to try new things that stretch them out of their comfort zones regularly, but there haven’t been many opportunities for me to do this in the last 17 years. Now it is my turn!

Your support will make so much difference - to me as I train and fundraise over the next twelve months; when I’m out there freezing and trying to remember why I’m there; and, most importantly, to the children and families that the Rainbow Trust supports who are facing far bigger challenges of their own.
