Story
My Brother, Christian Baxter was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2023. He underwent brain surgery in September to take a biopsy and remove some of the tumour and has since been diagnosed with Grade 3 Astrocytoma Giloma. He requires further treatment in the form of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to reduce the size of what’s left.
The ‘Wight Brainy Bunch’ are a charity who raise funds to support families affected by brain tumours on the Isle of Wight. The charity can provide financial assistance to families struggling with the inevitable added expenses that are so often incurred; including travel costs to the Mainland for appointments and treatment, loss of earnings, specialist equipment to improve mobility, short breaks and memory making experiences for those with a terminal diagnosis, counselling services, physio and cognitive therapy to aid rehabilitation, as well as any other services deemed beneficial for the patient/family.
I am running a half marathon at the Portsmouth Coastal Waterside Marathon on 17th December 2023 and would love to raise as much as I can for this amazing charity that will help and support my brother through this journey.
