Story
Hey everyone!
Sadly, I’ve lost 8 family members over the past 2 1/2 years. As you can imagine, the effects of this - as well as the challenges of day-to-day life - have begun to weigh heavily. I’ve not been the best lately, so to ensure I can pull through, I’m attending counseling sessions via Bury Hospice. They’ve been supporting me in ways I never could have imagined. I’d now like to try to give something back to the organization that is continuing to help me to keep my head above water, hence this abseiling fundraising challenge.
The target is to pay for the cost of a day’s wages for a hospice nurse, as the hospice receives only 13% of funding from the government, their remaining +£4 million pounds per year operating costs come from fundraising initiatives, volunteers, and donations. So if this is something you can help with, it would be very much appreciated. Please know that even a £1 donation would be greatly appreciated in helping to reach the goal.
We're gearing up for the Peel Tower Abseil 2024 on Saturday, June 29th. Brave souls dropping 128ft down the side of Peel Tower. It's all for a good cause! Every donation counts:
- £10 could pay for a patient's evening meal
- £25 could pay for a bereavement support session
- £50 could pay for a home visit by our community outreach team
- £75 could pay for a nurse for half a day
- £150 could pay for a nurse for a day
- £450 could pay for a bed for a day.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. It means a lot.
